Beijing Automobile Works Co., Ltd. was originally founded in 1958 as second largest automobile factory in China. BAW is one of the vehicle manufacturing sub-division of Beijing Automobile Industry Holding Co. Ltd. The total sales of this group had reached 1.5 million in the year 2010.

Beijing Hyundai Motor Corporation
Beijing Hyundai is a joint venture of Beijing Automobile Holdings and Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. This company was established in the year 2002, which manufactures all automobiles of the Hyundai Motor Company for the Chinese market. The total sales of this company crossed 700,000 vehicles in the year 2010.
Beijing Benz – Daimler Chrysler Automotive Co. Ltd.
Beijing Benz was established in 2005, which is a joint venture between Beijing Automobile Holdings and Daimler AG of Germany. It assembles and manufactures the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and C-Class in Beijing. In 2011 Beijing Benz will launch GLK-Class. Beijing Benz sales in 2010 had reached 50,000 units a small reduction from 2009's 67,000 units in a highly-competitive marketplace.
BAW has been manufacturing automobiles for 50 years, firmly entrenching itself as China’s most reliable off-road auto-maker. While focusing on off-road vehicles, it also develops commercial vehicles and special vehicles to meet the demands of military users and domestic, as well as overseas civilian markets. With a sound contribution to national economic development and defense, it has become the first priority of Chinese military.
BAW takes the lead in China when it comes to independent R&D and manufacturing. The R&D department has developed 3 series of products; off-road vehicles including brands of Yongshi, Luba and Qishi, and forming types of heavy, middle, light; trucks including brands like Qiling and Qilong, and covering varieties of 1 to 12 ton; light-buses including Minibus of the 3rd generation and the coming 4th generation.
BAW formulates the “3-2-3-3” development strategy; 3-stage development, 2-core competencies of cost and quality, 3-series of products, and 3-operating mechanism. BAW will achieve the 200,000 sales target within the next two years and will become the independent brand base for passenger cars (domestic and export), military vehicles and new energy vehicles. These will cover a variety of products ranging from low to high grade passenger cars, mini-cars, off-road vehicles, light-duty buses and trucks. BAW will thus become one of the major automobile manufacturers of China.
BAW has 4 advanced factory processes. They are Press, Welding, Paint and Final Assembly Line. 60 percent of BAW’s components are originally sourced from Germany and America. The company’s technical level is comprehensive and advanced, meeting current global standards. Beijing Automobile Works Co., Ltd. has been certified by TUV, VDE, and ISO-9001:2000.

BAW is planning to take the integration road. Based on the integration of resources and upgrading of technology, BAW will gradually realize platform-based universal, modular and differentiated products. Integration of resources and the development of new car platforms will lead to the realization of four major product lines of cars, off-road vehicles, passenger cars and trucks.
